Kimarie Chartier here. I live in Canyon Country, in Southern California. I have always been an artist and started drawing at age two. My Mother said when I was a child I always had something to draw with in hand and I would cry when the paper ran out (LOL) I went to art school for a short while and have taught art to elementary school kids. I have done many oil paintings, pastels, and watercolors, and recently have been intrigued with digital photography and computer photo art in Paint Shop Pro and more recently, Adobe Photoshop.
I am also the proud mama of three beautiful daughters, Annie, Janel, and Christina. I also have a sweet, loving cocker spaniel named Candi, and another named Moby, and both are very needy of much love and attention. Candi goes with me on photo shoots-oh- 'cept when I am shooting birds ‘cause she’s a bird hunter by nature!! I love exploring light and shadows, and enjoy taking photos of my favorite subjects … my family, my pets, nature, and animals. I am never without my pocket cams, with I call ‘an extension of my right hand’. I will climb and crawl anywhere and do anything or that special shot.
Photography is been always to me a surprising and unknown venture into just being there and letting it happen. Observing and letting it happen, and shooting the world as it comes!! . You can plan it and maybe even have the idea in your head, but usually you have to take what is reality and go with it. That’s how I see it . My photos are not planned or contrived but just natural and spontaneous as the world happens. I shoot it and as I do, I am awakening to life anew. Since I started doing photography the world is new to me, and light and life unfold and open!
